At the end of 2017, Peri Malhotra, Director of Employee Development at Quatrro Global Services (QGS), was concerned about the future of the One Woman campaign that had been launched at the company two years earlier. She led the initiative with her line manager, Alok Narain, Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Development. Despite concerted efforts, Malhotra remained one of the company’s few female executives. The One Woman campaign was launched in 2015 with the goal of attracting, retaining, developing and most importantly helping women rise to leadership. The program was well received by attendees and generated considerable enthusiasm among female employees, but Malhotra had also heard some whispering from male employees, particularly about the preferential treatment the program could encourage. The 2018 financial planning process had begun and if Malhotra and Narain were unable to provide a full evaluation of the campaign, the added value of the initiatives, and the ways they could be improved, the program would most likely be cut. Malhotra and Narain considered their efforts and both were eager to keep the program going.
