AquaSafi Cleaning Systems Pvt. Limited. (AquaSafi) was a social enterprise with the aim of providing drinking water to people in developing countries. The organization assembled and sold its water treatment technology at a cost to villages and non-governmental organizations in rural India. Before deciding to change AquaSafi’s current operating model, the managing director considered that it would be useful to conduct a cost-benefit analysis to see how the company’s cash flow for a new water filtration system would differ under current operating models and proposed. He also wondered if it would make sense for AquaSafi to change its operating model in the course of expansion, as the company’s current operating model had been well received in the villages.
