Goodyear is about to make its first major capital commitments in the largest investment project in its history, the All American Pipeline. The pipeline will transport heavy crude from California to Texas. You are at the heart of a great Goodyear program to diversify its core tire business. Goodyear estimates the construction cost to be just under $ 1 billion, while outside observers believe the cost could be double. Students are asked to evaluate the project by analyzing data on the supply and demand of heavy crude and the economics of its transportation, and calculating and accounting for the projected cash flows from the pipeline.
