Since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001, economic ties between China and the United States have deepened. However, with closer ties there have also been significant political conflicts. In this case, students will analyze current SinoUS diplomatic relations through two different lenses: 1) bilateral diplomatic relations; 2) economic theory. By understanding the complex political and economic factors underlying the relationship, students are encouraged to suggest possible solutions to avoid further escalation.
