The case investigates a new business venture to provide clean water to residents of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, who could not otherwise afford it. Management has enough money to keep the business running until August 2010, but needs more capital after that. An HBS student is interested in investing in the company. Management needs to reconsider its financial assumptions; Decision on an incentive structure for the proposed network of local water vendors; and prepare a pro forma income statement, cash flow statement, and balance sheet before meeting with the investor.
