As part of ongoing restructuring measures at the Pratt & Whitney North Haven plant, Ed Northern and a group of Japanese consultants are transforming the manufacturing process from a batch process to a one-piece flow and organizing the machines and employees in product cells. Vane Cell 6 is the first cell created in North Haven. Business unit manager Garrett Mikits faces a challenge as development for Vane Cell 6 nears completion. A new order that represents a huge increase in volume challenges Mikita and his staff to find a way to increase production.
