In November 2013, the TLO Developers (TLO) Executive Director (CEO) and Senior Vice President of Real Estate and Development (TLO) considered various options for a large company property in downtown Calgary. The property was rented to another company that used it as a parking lot. TLO had many vacant lots in its portfolio and the company began to focus more on commercial property development. They saw the construction of a high-class hotel or multi-story office building as an essential development alternative.
