This case study looks at the challenges for CGI, which just signed a contract for a major information systems development project for a client in Los Angeles. We attend the meetings of the project team members when they make important decisions about the most important parameters of project management and execution. Part A introduces the stakeholders and the project to the readers, while setting the context and challenges facing this project. Part B illustrates the decisions made by CGI regarding project organization and team member skills, with special emphasis on the innovative development methodology used by CGI in response to the specifics of that project.
