Porter Airlines is a regional airline that operates from the Toronto City Airport on the Toronto Islands in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Porter only operates Bombardier Dash8 Q400 turboprop aircraft and offers flights to destinations in Canada and the United States. Porter is aimed at business travelers who don’t find Toronto International Airport attractive. From its inception, Porter Airlines refuted many who thought it was doomed to successfully navigate the first few years of its existence. Leveraged unmet customer needs with a unique strategy. However, a critical question that needed to be clarified was whether this particular business model, previously so successful, would continue to exist. In addition, Porter had to decide how to expand and how aggressively to enter new and highly competitive markets.
