Method was ranked seventh on Inc. magazine’s 2006 list of 500 Fastest Growing Companies, and co-founder Adam Lowry is looking for a biodegradable cleaning wipe to add to Method’s line of “green” household products. Sustainable design principles have been a driving force in Method’s strategy, and respect for the environment is vital. This is also the case for acquisitions in the US But only China can make the corn-based fabric Lowry has in mind, and there is no way to certify that the product is free of GMOs. Lowry must weigh his company’s fundamental commitment to environmental sustainability against the fact that some retailers refuse to stock products that contain GMOs.
