Linda Metzler, newly appointed head of production planning, creates an overall production plan for the company’s refrigeration, freezing, and air conditioning systems for the coming year. She considered three plans. Students are asked to develop better plans and evaluate the quantitative and qualitative factors that favor them. Finally, the use of linear programming is introduced to create aggregate plans.
