The Head of Occupational Safety and Health Services at the London Health Sciences Center (LHSC) is part of a team developing a plan to prepare the LHSC to deal with various issues in the event of an influenza pandemic, particularly in their hospitals. Such an event would put great pressure on LHSC staff and the organization’s ability to provide medical care to the public. The manager must address various ethical concerns while ensuring compliance with the Ontario Health and Safety Act. He should also recommend the best way to communicate the plan to LHSC staff.
