Case Solution

Ciaran Meghen and Ronan Loftus, co-founders of IdentiGEN (an Irish company that had developed a unique service called DNA TraceBack to help customers identify and track meat products) discussed the future of the company. The recent horsemeat-contaminated beef crisis in Europe had led to strong demand for IdentiGEN’s services. Additionally, DNA TraceBack provided customers with an in-depth view of what they were doing to ensure the product was genuine and helped enable a continuous feedback loop between all supply chain actors to deliver a high-quality product to the consumers. Given the strong demand, how should IdentiGEN proceed, which customers should it work with, and what products should it support?
