He investigates a troubled IT outsourcing project from the point of view of IT service provider Hrad Technika. When used in conjunction with Tegan c.c.c. (9609038) is an opportunity to see both sides of the problem. When Hrad signs a contract to create a new accounts payable system for the Welsh toy retailer Tegan, the outsourcing company from the Czech Republic sees the project as another step on the road to providing quality services. Unfortunately, the project goes awry and Hrad is left deciding how to save the relationship and avoid a similar problem in the future. The case allows for the study of the management of an outsourcing project and a general discussion of IT outsourcing.
