HajduBet, Hungary’s largest private poultry producer and trader, wanted to expand and had contacted the investment committee of a large venture capital firm. The company had recently raised a fund to invest in opportunities in the former Central and Eastern European countries and was looking for suitable candidates. Although HajduBet showed promise, not wanting to commit to the standards for new investments, the company decided to conduct a detailed evaluation of HajduBet. Since the members of the investment committee took into account the results of the various investigations, they had to decide whether and under what conditions the investment should continue. Alternatively, they could request additional information, knowing that further delay could deprive them of the opportunity.
