This technical note begins by solving the “Google and Internet Privacy” case (UV1354) (disturbed by the reaction from the office, Charlie resigns) and then looks at the privacy issues the case addresses. Although “personal privacy” is a difficult concept to define, scholars and social commentators continue to struggle with that definition and the value of “personal privacy.” For the individual, privacy is an important factor in determining her autonomy and independence. This technical note analyzes the concept of privacy from a utilitarian and Kantian perspective.
