Gazelle pioneered a ReCommerce brokerage model: it buys used electronics from consumers and sells them through eBay or wholesalers. Moving forward, the top two strategic challenges are: 1) deciding how much you can rely on partnerships with large retailers to grow; 2) Decide if you will continue as a “distributor”, d. H. Buy and resell goods (assuming inventory risk) or transforming them into a “two-way platform” that connects seller and buyer without assuming inventory risk.
